Spring is here, and at Bluebells Groundworks, it’s been a busy season so far, full of exciting projects and ways we’re supporting our local community. From residential driveways to large-scale groundwork, our team has been delivering reliable, high-quality results across Kent and Sussex.
Challenging Groundwork in Cranbrook
One of our most complex spring projects has been at Cranbrook, where we’re overcoming soft ground, water issues, and tight access to deliver a strong, long-lasting foundation.
Recently, we installed a 1.2-metre diameter Milton ring to act as a sump, preparing the site for tanking. With one corner and a small wall remaining before the final floor slab, phase one is progressing steadily.
This project highlights what we do best: careful planning, problem-solving, and expertise that keeps even the most challenging sites on track.
Durable Driveways and Parking Areas
Alongside large groundwork projects, we’ve been transforming an outdoor space. A recent project involved over 200m² of road parking, carefully layered for durability:
- 150mm of topsoil removed
- Non-woven membrane laid
- 150mm gravel board and 150mm Type 1 base compacted
- Finished with 20mm shingle for a strong, long-lasting surface
We also installed a channel drain feeding into a gully pot to prevent runoff from washing away the surface, a small detail that makes a huge difference in longevity.
Privacy and Planting Solutions
Many homeowners are looking for natural ways to enhance their outdoor spaces, and we’ve delivered with our latest spring privacy planting project. We installed for a returning customer 1.65-metres of laurel hedge on one side and 2.5-metres of pleached hornbeam trees on the other. Providing screening, structure, and style that will flourish for years to come.
Projects like these show how groundwork and landscaping go hand-in-hand to create spaces that are not only functional but also visually appealing.
Supporting Local Communities
At Bluebells Groundworks, being part of the community is just as important as our on-site work. So far this spring we’ve supported Cranbrook Rugby Club and Hawkhurst Bowls Club with new advertising boards at both venues, helping to back local sports clubs that bring people together.
Supporting local initiatives, from sports clubs to community projects, is part of our ethos. Giving back while building strong, lasting relationships across the area.
Spring has already been a busy season for Bluebells Groundworks, with plenty to keep us moving. Even with the unpredictable spring weather, our team has been tackling every challenge head-on, delivering high-quality results and happy customers across Kent and Sussex.
